Ensure visibility of APG on the GP universe in order to optimize allocation and go-to-market strategies
Responsible for bottom-up selection to achieve mandate objectives
Primary responsibility for sourcing hard-to-access GPs and play key role in sourcing co-investment and secondary opportunities
Ensure rigorous analysis of merits/issues associated with the investment and passage of investment proposals through the APG investment process
Lead due diligence processes from the start through commitment with flawless execution
Oversee investment proposal content and writing
Lead negotiation of legal documentation
Monitor and manage performance of fund commitments through evaluation against targets
Serve as influential and competent advisor to GPs, including active participation on boards
Lead resolution of conflicts and remedies for GP issues, and liaison with like-minded LPs
Responsible for update on fund commitments as part of internal review process
Coach mid-level and junior professionals through assisting in professional development and providing input during appraisal process
Oversee recruitment and onboarding of new PE team members
More than ~12 years of relevant work experience, with strong preference for minimum 8 years in private equity investing in Private Equity funds in preferably continental Europe
Experience at a firm with “best in class” processes
Familiarity with ESG issues and the Principles of Responsible Investing (PRI)
Pro-active, hands-on and collaborative approach
Post-MBA position (not required); university degree with prior education in economics, corporate finance, mathematics and/or other technical subject
Demonstrable profound knowledge of finance and expertise in private equity
CFA designation viewed favorably
Excellent (global) communication and negotiating skills in the English language while command of the Dutch language is viewed favorably.
