You will be part of a global team of then 17 Responsible Investment & Governance experts that guard the implementation of the Responsible Investment Policy, on behalf of APG’s Pensionfund clients, across all asset classes in the EUR 470bn portfolio. APG’s clients have expressed clear ambitions for 2020 on Responsible Investing in the area of climate change, investing in solutions to sustainable development challenges, and using their influence through engagement with investees to affect better financial and ESG performance. APG and its clients are stepping up their efforts in actively communicating with different stakeholders on responsible and long term investing topics.
You are an experienced communication professional and are looking to apply your knowledge in an investment environment with a focus on sustainability and governance issues. Developing subject matter expertise and engaging with different stakeholders drives you. Writing for diverse audiences is one your score skills. You can think strategically about how to translate complex issues into effective messages across a range of media, and are driven by enabling an organization and its employees to communicate more effectively.
APG is at the forefront of responsible investing (RI) with a view to delivering sustainable risk-adjusted return to our clients and their end beneficiaries. Responsible Investing is part of APG AM’s mission statement and we have a dedicated RI Investment Belief. The Global Responsible Investment & Governance team currently consists of 15 members based in Amsterdam, New York and Hong Kong. The MD Global Responsible Investment & Governance reports into the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) on the APG Assessment Management Board. The implementation of the Responsible Investment Policy is overseen by the board level Investment Committee chaired by the CIO. You will also be working closely with APG’s communication department.
This is an important role in helping to implement our clients’ 2020 ambitions and making a difference for the 4.5 million pensioners that we serve.

- At least Master level education in a relevant subject.
