While studying business economics at the University of Amsterdam, I found out pretty quickly which sector I wanted to work in after I qualified: asset management. And because I wanted to know if the real-life situation was at least as interesting as the theory, I decided to do an internship at APG, one of the largest and most prominent asset managers in the country. After graduating in international business, I took a job in the HR sector. APG crossed my path after I was chatting with an ex-colleague who was working there. I learned from her that it was a good-sized company, with social responsibility as a core value. She was particularly enthusiastic about the fact that collaborating to achieve results was considered very important. I started out as HR Business Partner and progressed to become an HR specialist, and now I’m working as Improvement Business Consultant at IT. It’s a role full of challenges. I am contributing to the future of APG and working on assignments such as reorganization trajectories, process and chain optimizations, continuous improvement management, operational management or change projects, and formulating vision and strategy.
