The steps to acquiring a job at APG

Step 1: Applying for a job
Applying for a job at APG is done online. Your CV and letter of application carry equal weight. Make sure to devote the necessary attention to them. Once you have completed all of the steps and your application has been received, you will receive a confirmation within a few hours.
Step 2: Evaluation
The recruiter reviews your application to determine whether your profile matches the job opening for which you are applying. If you meet the requirements and your letter is convincing, the recruiter discusses your application with the manager concerned. They decide whether you will be invited for an initial interview. It can therefore take a few days before you hear something. If you are not invited for an interview, you will be informed of this as quickly as possible as well.
Step 3: The interview round(s)
You are invited by the recruiter for an initial interview. The persons attending this interview and the exact procedure differ for each job opening. Generally there will be two interviews. Each job opening requires its own specific approach Some job openings require an assessment or a test. Naturally you will be supplied with this information well ahead of time so that you have a chance to prepare yourself properly. Subject areas that are always addressed are your knowledge, experience and motivation as to why you want to work for APG.
Step 4: Starting at APG!
When all interviews are assessed as positive, you will receive an offer from APG. You will initially receive a one-year contract. You will discuss your start date and familiarization phase together with your future manager.
Pre-employment screening/Certificate of Good Conduct
When you are hired by APG you must have a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG). You can request this certificate from the municipality in which you live, using a form that we will give you, before you start working. You will also be given a pre-employment screening via an external firm by our Asset Management department. This elaborate screening is also valid for certain positions in other APG business units. If this is required, you will be advised accordingly during the application procedure.
Applying for a job and confidentiality
APG will treat your application confidentially and in accordance with applicable privacy laws. We support the NVP Application Code. This code contains the basic rules that labor organizations should take into consideration according to the Dutch Association for Personnel Management & Organization Development (NVP) when recruiting and selecting candidates for staffing job openings.
