Human rights, child labour, the environmental and the social impacts of mining and the exploitation of oil sands are examples of ESG issues APG addressed in 2009. On these and other issues we devoted substantial effort to pressing companies to demonstrate responsible practice.
APG also made numerous new investments that contribute directly to resolving major environmental and social challenges. These include investments in bio-fuels, wind and solar energy, energy efficiency, micro finance and health care in Africa.
